Half of this photograph is from tonight, the other half is from years ago – because the sky tonight sucked. Gustave Le Gray, a photographer from the 1800’s, was one of the first to cut and combine two different negatives, the ground and the sky, to create more of an impact for the viewer. Manipulation ain’t new… That said, please don’t use “stock” skies, or do it to make all of your awful photographs look okay!
