(an installation about technology)
There is no avoiding it, technology is a part of every aspect of our lives. As a digital artist and self-proclaimed geek, I love many aspects of the world of electronics, but I am well aware of the negative sides as well. Pixels is an installation about the ability technology has to entrance us, to capture us, and act almost exactly similar to the effects of a drug. The work involves a wall covered in colorful squares. A quickly pulsating colored light is aimed at the squares, causing them to appear as if they are constantly changing hues. To add to the effect, an droning electronic audio loop is played on repeat, syncing up with with the visual element.
